Where do you get good, great, awesome, masquerade masks in Bondi, the Eastern Suburbs or Sydney in general?
You can get them custom made At Agent Costume, Bondi. If you are looking to save your pennies, for really cheap masks with acceptable decorative feathers and sequins, one can often find them in the bargain two dollar shops of Bondi Junction. You’re looking at $5 to $25 easily for something bright and festive, made in a factory in China and at a fraction of the price it would cost to make in Australia.
If you’d like something more personalised, customised to suit your requirements, you could drop into Agent Costume and get something made to suit the outfit you’re planning to wear.
How would you like to know with confidence that no one else will be wearing what you are wearing, personalised and self expressed. You are a unique piece of art as you walk the streets and work the party.
For example, one gorgeous lady dropped in one day with a request for something in particular that she’d seen in a magazine. We happened to have the materials she needed in stock, so she came back in a time that suited us both, which happened to be Saturday morning. We sat down together and made it.
You could expect to pay anything from $25 to $50 for a custom made mask such as this.
Though if your taste calls for more flounce or expensive materials then you could be looking at more, but we can discuss that.
I can make you an amazing mask for $500 of you have that budget, and it would be a piece of art. Wearable Art!
Don’t forget, you are commissioning an artist with great technique, trained, dextrous hands, and years of experience, not to forget boxes of trimmings, trinkets chains and beads, to guide the process.
And by all means, make an appointment, as Agent Costume’s time gets snapped up weekly and you may miss out.
This mask was made with a pretty piece of lace that we happened to have, otherwise, she could have gone out to purchase some and returned with it.
We used a length of bias ribbon as a base to attach the pieces together after we’d ascertained the correct shape to cut the lace, and finished up using some special frilled lace type ribbon, and then, to top it all off, we found a strand of delicate beads from a broken necklace in one of the bead boxes, which magically happened to be exactly the right colour, to finish the piece off and give it a touch of bling to resonate with the detailing of bronze colour teeth on the exposed zips of her leather like tight pants. Hot!
The client got to pick out her favourite detailing and together we created a mask that she was excited to wear to her friends party. YaY!
