I made a fabulous PVC Maleficant costume for a Pole dancing competition this August, which went well, photos to come when the client sends some in full regalia, make up, hair and boots.
You can’t really tell by the naked eye, but the dancers muscles are built up in places that requires a custom made costume for best fit. We made a mock up, and then made the real deal from that fitting. It was an on going process, involving covering a bra to match the outfit, and also covering some maleficent horns.
We used a high quality PVC so that the costume could be laundered and used again. At least once the show is over, the client has the option to keep, or sell on. There is so much time and effort that goes into the construction of these things, it would be a shame to use a cheap fabric. That would mean the costume is destined for landfill.
At least this way, the costume can be sold if not used again by the client.
Meanwhile, while we are waiting to see Maleficent Pole dancer, check out these photos of the Maleficent hire currently available at Agent Costume.
Whilst searching for horns, the client found a Disney Maleficent wire frame work in the USA. She was able to have them sent to Australia in time for me to cover them with the same fabric as her jacket.
I ordered 2 pairs for myself, and now have a pink pair and a black PVC pair available for hire, incase you are looking to dress as Maleficent for your next party.
Team it with a turban, or long wig.
I used the pink pair for a glam animal themed party. I also made a pink leopard hooded fur vest, which has since been sold and sent to Melbourne. YaY!
