This rainbow leopard skin lycra was designed and printed by Jess Eisenhauer. Orchestrated by BunnyHoopStar and Deanne Love, Jess sent Agent Costume a picture of how she envisioned the finished the basic bodysuit to look. Based on the pattern piece, Agent Costume advised which direction and how wide to make the coloured stripes to get that effect on the costume. The fabric was then delivered to Agent costume, where we cut and sewed the costumes up!
BunnyHoopStar and Deanne Love came in and we played around with a few ideas. Together we came up with this unique power dressing collar and hip effect.
The costume design was a collaboration between several parties, performers: BunnyHoopStar and Deanne Love, textile designer: Jess Eisenhauer and costume designer: Elisa Marigold.

Performance is a many layered art form, a combination of various practices, from the body’s physical movement, to lighting, to soundtrack, and let’s not forget awesome costumes!
It takes quite some effort to get a unique costume made up, not just from the costume maker but from the performer also. The performer needs to clarify their intent. They need to be able express what they want and what they don’t want. They need to be able to come in and have fittings to get the costume fitting correctly.
Any serious performer knows the difference a custom made costume makes to ones performance. Presentation makes an immediate impression on the audience, and can serve to emphasise or enforce an impression within the performance.

Platinum Hoops is a relatively newly formed troupe of well practised hoopers from way back, hooping their way over and across the world and back at festivals, corporate events, birthday parties, weddings, Hen’s parties, christenings…any celebration you can think of!
Hooping is more than a physical practice. For some it’s a life style.

[box type=”info”]This black fabric was hand screen printed by Jess Eisenhauer. That’s no mean feat, and it all needs to be heat treated to make the paint stick permanently to the fabric. Do you know how scarey it is to heat treat lycra? Not a job for beginners.
The costume changed design somewhat as we were making it, and Agent costume had to get creative with panels to make the print last thoughout the outfit. The print illuminates under particular lighting conditions, making for a multifaceted, everchanging performance. [/box]
