Elvis Wig styling was on the agenda first thing this morning.
I bought it rather cheaply in a pretty messed up condition. Even the picture on the packaging was messy, but I knew something could be done to revive it to a more impressive glory.
There’s only so much one can do with a cheap wig, but to not even try would be a travesty!
I went out this weekend, traipsed around Surrey hills and Darlinghurst, Oxford St and Crown St, and was surprised to see the number of young ‘hetro’ men happily out and about with their girlfriends in fancy dress costume hire! I decided they were hetrosexual because their costumes weren’t styled to the level expected and known from the gay community, in fact, it would be an insult to assume anything else!
They were obviously either on their way to parties, eating dinner between parties, or on their way home from parties.
My only thought was “damn! If only I had been given half an hour to forty minutes with their wigs before hand, I would have given them some life! All I could see behind the two tone mullets and lope sided Afros, (all worn with headbands- there’s some kind of trend happening there) were the folded impressions of their previous lives living for weeks inside it’s plastic packaging.
The sad thing is, even some costume shops hire them in this condition.
Wigs need styling people!
It breaks my heart to see a costume let down by a poorly or non styled wig.
Wigs play an important role in the final overall impression of your outfit.
Don’t let it down by sporting a poorly tended to quiff!
Go that extra bit, and see to it your locks are given that extra bit of “joosh” that lifts your style up and out of the ordinary.
The photos will be worth it.
And so will your experience of yourself.
