This amazing performer needed a dance costume for an up coming performance.
She brought in photographs and images of the type of look she had in mind and together we designed an outfit to suit her requirements.
We ended up designing a jumpsuit, so that the blouse would stay tucked into the hotpants while she twirled and swirled in her acrobatic performance, and we created a tight pencil line skirt with pop studs for easy quick change half way through her act. The whole outfit was made with two way stretch for easy movement.
I drew up a picture, took her measurements and we discussed materials and costs.
Paige went out with some guidelines and came back with the required fabrics in the colours of her choice.
It can often be easier for the client to source their own materials. The fabric colours we discuss may not be available, and they may find other fabrics they would prefer to use instead. This way the client knows the colours and materials and saves time with us meeting again to approve and confirm.
I can source materials if preferred, but sometimes clients like to have a deeper involvement, and if they have the means and the time, it can be cheaper for them. Depending on the types of materials needed, I can make suggestions on where the best places are to go to find them.
We had a fitting to define the exact waist line and leg length, and then another fitting to perfect the fit.
When she put it on she said it was the most comfortable costume she’d ever worn! Yes!
That makes me very happy.
